The Friends of Walmer Parish Churches exist to help with the funding for repairs and maintenance to the church building for St Mary's, St Saviour's and Blessed Mary of Walmer.

Each year the Friends organize fund raising events, invest income from Friends donations, and seek new members. Fund raising events in 2007 and 2008 have included a Wine and Wisdom quiz night, Barn Dance, Fun Wine Tasting evening, and Summer BBQ. In autumn 2008 they will host a Christmas Fair in St Mary's church and an 'Open Gardens' event is already being planned for 2009.

In 2008 the Friends have contributed to substantial lighting and decorating work at St Saviour's church and have funded essential guttering repairs to Blessed Mary of Walmer.

The Friends committee is chaired by Jenny Hawkins. Jenny has previously worked at, and is still involved with, Canterbury Christ Church University, and has been part of Walmer Parish Churches for over 20 years.
